The picture for this month’s newsletter is quite different from the beautiful nature scenes that David usually shares. I took this picture in 2018 at the Magna Carta exhibit in Salisbury Cathedral. It represents themes that were as important in 1215 AD – when the English barons forced King John to grant certain democratic rights – as they are now, more than eight hundred years later.
As the ninth month of 2024, September intensifies the energy of number 8. All year long we’ve seen examples of this numeric energy at work. Strength, Power, Freedom, Justice, Leadership, and Boundaries have emerged as major themes collectively, and also for many of us in our personal lives. The very nature of 8 calls us to take a broad view, to look at the big picture, to be aware of how it affects our global village and our global family, as well as how it affects our own community and those we know and love.
Democracy and freedom are fragile. Those of us born after 1945 have never experienced a time when it was more important to be the change we wish to see, to be the PEACE we wish to see. It’s critically important that we avoid dwelling on what we don’t want to see in the world and who we don’t want to see in positions of power. 8 represents mental energy. We put that to good use when we send thoughts of love. light, and peace to those whose daily existence is a struggle; and when we visualize positive outcomes for leaders whose values and commitment to democracy and world peace are aligned with our own values.
The symmetrical numeral 8 represents “As above, so below.” It also says “As within, so without.” What we do makes a difference. What we do on a personal and local level to bring more peace and contentment into our own lives ripples out in unseen ways and has an impact on everyone who shares our planet.
September is always a good month to set goals and this month’s double 8 will heighten ambition and productivity. You set yourself up for success with your goals when you write them, state your “why” and take incremental action steps. In numerology each of the words “goal”, ‘action’, and “success” add up to 8. Many people find reading their goals over each day to be an effective way to work with the Law of Attraction; and some also find it helpful to write their list of goals each day.
For some of us September will be a rigorous and demanding month, particularly in the northern hemisphere as summer ends and we go back to our routines. This year we’re likely to find that we have more responsibilities either in the workplace or in our family life. We can avoid feeling overwhelmed and gain greater control over our schedule by consistently using our calendar and thinking carefully about making commitments; and we maintain a positive level of self-respect by honouring the commitments that we do make.
This is a great month to cultivate a few small everyday habits that will help us to stay organized and keep moving forward. These could be as simple as taking a few minutes to remove sales receipts from your wallet and record your expenses, planning meals and avoiding trips to the grocery store on week nights when need time at home to replenish, or limiting the amount of time spent on social media.
Keeping in mind that this month we have the energy of double 8, this can also be a good month to tap into the theme of financial growth. For example, it’s a good month to start a savings account, assess current savings accounts to ensure that you are getting the best possible interest rate, or start collecting some coins in a glass jar.
Finally don’t forget to lighten up and have some fun. Watch a movie that makes you laugh, take in some live music or theatre, get together with friends, or plan some enjoyable outdoor activities.
Wishing you an enjoyable month
Blessings,
Vikki
