“A loving heart is the truest wisdom.”—Charles Dickens
As we move into the eighth month of 2024 we are bringing in the wise, introspective and analytical energy of number 7.
As expected, themes of power, leadership, strength and justice have dominated world news in this 8 calendar year. Recent political and environmental events have caused fear and anxiety; and life has been unsettling for many people in our global village. Many of us have been required to adapt to changing circumstances and unexpected developments, both collectively and individually. Yet one thing that I think will never change is that even in the darkest, most tragic events we see kindness and courage, and love in action; and we realize that we have a choice as to whether we will be part of the problem or part of the solution. (The words “courage” and “compassion” add up to 7.)
Analytical number 7 tells us that we have the power within us to rise above fear and discord, assess our strengths and weaknesses in any situation, and examine the options that are available to us. (“Choice” is a 7 word.)
The element for 7 is water. It tells us that quite often what we need to know is hidden in shadows, well below the surface. It calls us to honour our emotions but also master them as we gather knowledge; to seek wisdom as we evaluate and explore the depths of circumstances that may be compromising our peace of mind and quality of life; to focus on areas where we have some level of control and avoid wasting time and energy worrying about what we can’t control.
Let’s look at some ways that we can ride the crest of number 7 this month:
A 7 month is a good time to tie up loose ends and bring a greater degree of order into your life. Author Marie Kondo writes that “decluttering helps us to heal the past, present, and future.” Author Louise Penny writes. “Order is freedom; chaos is a kind of prison.”
Just as it’s freeing to have a tidy and organized personal space, it’s also helpful to declutter our mind space. It’s a good month to cocoon with some good books; and limit the time we spend on social media, or watching electronic images change from moment to moment on TV.
The world will not slow down – it’s up to us to refine and maintain our boundaries, and create our own space to breathe. Not everyone can arrange a day or even an afternoon off; but we can all find time in our day to stretch, look out the window, have a drink of water, or step outside for a breath of fresh air. The word “replenish” is a 7 word.
The combination of number 7 along with Mercury in retrograde from August 4 to 28 seems to indicate that some of us may find it frustrating as we try to move forward with our plans and projects. We may also find it frustrating dealing with large companies or government bureaucracies this month, and we will have to remember to be patient and courteous in these situations.
We can all do our part to promote peace. Our words, our tone of voice, and our intent have a powerful impact on others. Remember that everyone needs to be acknowledged and appreciated, and that we all thrive when we are treated with kindness and respect. That includes the children and adults that we live with, and the people we work with. “Words have the power to hiss and kill, and words have the power to kiss and heal.”
This will be a good month to connect with your spiritual side. Read a book, attend an online seminar, or see a reputable practitioner for a reading. Schedule some time alone for journaling or meditation.
Acknowledge yourself for your personal growth and accomplishment. Yes you’re grateful to Spirit and to certain individuals who have shown support, but it’s time to give yourself a pat on the back and say “Hey – I couldn’t have done it without me!”
